Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise

We use it to manage the various development projects we have as well as manage the operations side of our Senior living facilities and our multifamily units. The business problem the product addresses is helping us manage our cash flow into the various projects and operatiuons.

  • Would like to have some additional customizations
It has allowed us to add additional properties with ease to track the various bank accounts and construction draws. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise has been able to fill in for payroll when our payroll system was not ready yet.QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise seems to have something for the company as a whole and is very easy to use and understand the basics for reporting and monitoring.
I was not with the company when quickbooks was brought in. My understanding was it has been at our company for a few years and my own personal experience has been very positive. With little to no training, I have been able to easily navigate the dashboard and find the various reports I have needed and been able to customize how I have needed them to be so that I can send reports to investors and lenders.
Just with the asset management, being able to see in real time how our money is being spent, how on or off budget we are, and where are we off on budget. Overall, quickbooks has been a big value to our company.
Sage is offline, very cumbersome to work with and does not have the type of features that quickbooks has. Sage was pretty horrible to work with. Trying to find reports was awful and running payroll was difficult. Quickbooks is far superior to Sage and would never recommend Sage to anyone.

One specific scenario where QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise is well suited for is managing our operations side of the real estate business. It allows us to set our budgets, follow those budgets and see in real time where our money is going. This has allowed us to manage the budgets at various facilities and allocate money appropriately to the areas where we are spending it the most or the areas where we need to spend more money on or allocate more money towards. It has helped us see where we have had some trouble spots so that we can address them.
