Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise

We moved from QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise to Blackbaud Financial Edge for our non-profit needs. (Multi-fund Accounting) - Also better integration with Donor Database and AP Review. Online, multiple user access more streamlined. AP Approval Process. More
  • Bank Reconciliation - Matching - Integration
  • Robust Reporting (Ease of use and creation)
  • It's familiar - I've been using it for years and it "makes sense" to me. The change to Blackbaud has been difficult, cumbersome, slow.
  • AP Approval Process requires separate App. (Not well integrated)
  • Not Online (Cloud-based) Solution
  • Doesn't seem to be evolving along with capabilities of QuickBooks Online (Seems stuck in the past)
I've been using QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise so many years - However, training and support has been very good. There are lots of resources and many professionals are familiar with this system. If ease of use is important and you're new to accounting systems, QuickBooks Online may be a better starting point.
Multi-Company reporting has been great.
QuickBooks Online - Small to mid size companies - Ease of use and customer support. Great interaction with POS systems. Best out of the box experience. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise not good for new users - Consider hiring professional accounting consultant for training and reconciliation.

Do you think QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise's feature set?

Yes

Did QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise again?

Yes

Best suited for mid-size companies that need more robust reporting than QuickBooks Online can offer. Better for only a few users (More gets tricky - even with RightNetworks.) Too cumbersome for small companies - QuickBooks Online is a much better solution overall - And seems to be developing well. There are few scenarios that I would recommend QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise - The last recommendation was because the company did not want their information online at all and felt that was more secure on the desktop.
