Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Online

It is being used by our clients as their tool to operate their business. We choose to integrate with QuickBooks Online because of the ease of use and layman-friendly interface. It addresses the problem we had of needing to offer our clients an easy-to-use tool they can utilize to run their day-to-day operations, while still giving us the ability to integrate with more robust accounting software.
  • Seamless integration with a multitude of banks; automatic download of data. These reduce the need for data entry on electronic bank transactions.
  • Navigation. The layout is very straightforward.
  • Appeal to the "everyman." There are things that Quickbooks does not allow you to do when using accounts payable and accounts receivable, and they do this so that non-accountants do not end up with a mess that is very difficult to unwind. This may be a problem for some, but we find that it reduces our time spent unraveling client-created problems.
  • There is a little room for improvement on the back end, where it comes to wholesale billing. Sometimes the system will not allow you to add a client to wholesale billing despite the client's file meeting all eligibility requirements.
  • It would be nice if we could create our own reports using pre-defined variables. Right now you are forced to use the reports that they offer. This is fine for most day-to-day activities, but sometimes problem solving requires a little more than their reports can provide.
  • It would also be nice if more customization was allowed. For example, the ability to customize invoices and statements more than is currently allowed, or the ability to change the fonts or appearance of the standard reports.
  • Increased Employee Efficiency
  • Better Customer Service
  • Real-Time Reporting; Positive Customer Experience/Outcome
  • Xero,Intacct,Bill.com,FreshBooks
Quickbooks Online is just more refined. We use Bill.com as well, and the two integrate seamlessly. We chose QuickBooks Online because of the number of clients that are already familiar with the product, the number of clients likely to move in the direction of QuickBooks Online in the near future, the wholesale billing plan, and the integration with our other software.
This is a fantastic tool for the typical small business. It is great for those that require minimal analysis and/or fundamental job-costing. I would not recommend this to anybody requiring advanced job costing, or to anybody that requires specific financial statement formatting (such as franchisees that must report in specific formats according to franchise agreements).
