Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Pro
We used QuickBooks Pro in our finance, payroll, and Human Resource departments. It handled all of our accounting functions, to include AR. Payroll was a shared process with Human Resources. Human Resources also used it as a de facto HRIS system since the company did not have one in place.
Pros
- Payroll - fairly easy process to learn and repeat accurately.
- General ledger easy to set up and understand.
- Building custom reports for financials, payroll, and employee info is not difficult.
Cons
- Tracking employee changes, like pay rates, benefits, etc. This is a 100% manual process and there is no audit trail.
- Inability to access the system and make changes when another user is logged in.
