Overall Satisfaction with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

It is the most reliable OS out there. We replaced all our Windows systems with RHEL and have few crashes or tech issues. It runs all of our servers now and we are very happy. We deployed it corp wide and it was an easy setup. It has cut my tech support requirements by at least half due to its reliability.
  • Runs our high use servers flawlessly
  • It is easy to repair
  • It grows stronger every day
  • It's very adaptable and functional
  • My techs love it for its speed and reliability
  • More documentation
  • More programs that run on it
  • Better GUI for desktop users
  • It's all positive. Excellent ROI as it is so trouble-free and reliable.
  • It cuts my tech costs dramatically and is easy to update.
Beats them all for reliability, security, ease of use and setup, as well as patching. It has fewer support problems and is easily serviced. Support is easy to find and quite helpful. Windows crashed all the time and Azure was at times spotty.
I rate it highly because support is easy to find, comes with a lot of detail and has significantly lowered my IT costs while providing a great ROI. Continued training is always available. While the documentation could be improved it is accurate and helpful.

Do you think Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)'s feature set?

Yes

Did Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) again?

Yes

All servers work great. It is reliable, fast and secure. But it's not as intuitive as it could be for desktop use, a better GUI would help this. So far, we have not found an application that this will not work for.

Using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

8 - IT Mgt, IT Techs, upper mgt, marketing. We run RHEL for all tech and Client services, analytics and more..
4 - Fully trained in RHEL structure and operation with an understanding of how we use it and why. Previous experience in the use of and maintenance of RHEL.
  • Running our main servers.
  • Running all Client services.
  • Interface to all our products
  • Running our storage net
  • Managing our Cloud, overall.
  • Creating faster analytics.
We find RHEL to be a superior OS with stable operations and long life. It is also easier to use and fix then most other OS's.

Evaluating Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Competitors

Yes - Windows Server. Replaced because it is inherently unstable and a pain to work on. Windows servers crash regularly but our RHEL systems have been running trouble free for years. We replaced due to poor stability and security issues. Also, being so reliable, RHEL has reduced my internal tech costs.

We have used a version of RHEL for over 22 years in another business we own, Runs reliably and trouble free.
We would not change as for now, we do not see a reasonable competitor with a better OS.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Implementation

Don't be afraid of it, its easy to install and configure for the tasks needed.
Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled - It runs faster and more reliably. These things have a major impact on our Change Mgt and RHEL handles them just great. Learned that change mgt is NOT a difficult thing to institute and control with this easy to us, very functional and reliable OS...
  • Time spent
  • assigning proper tasks
