Overall Satisfaction with Renaissance Accelerated Reader

I am currently a split librarian at an elementary and middle school. All classes and grade levels are using Renaissance Accelerated Reader. This tool helps teachers and administrators check comprehension after the students have read a book.
  • I like how Accelerated Reader now offers nonfiction articles.
  • I like how it is linked to MyOn.
  • It provides assessment for most of the books in the library.
  • Some of the questions are lower level recall questions.
  • It would be easier if MyOn and accelerated reader were linked when taking tests. The students have to open another tab instead of going directly to the website.
  • This tool allows teachers to check student comprehension.
  • It also allows teachers to check on behind students, to make sure they are reading and assessing their knowledge.
They are about the same. The only difference is that MyOn has ebooks. The tests seem to be very similar.
Great for checking comprehension. I also like how the books are on reading levels that fall in the zpd ranges.
