Overall Satisfaction with RUN Powered by ADP®

The Employee Handbook wizard has allowed us to manage the ever-changing laws for employee/employer communication and operations. In the past, we relied on our attorney to provide us with the proper verbiage and guidance on what to include. Not only was this highly time-consuming, but it was also a great expense to compile, print, and distribute. We were forced to do multiple revisions, which further increased our expenses. With the Handbook wizard, updates can be done immediately as certain parameters change. Access is immediate to our team on the ADP APP, so there's never a question of "I don't know where my handbook is." Information is a click away, current, and up-to-date with changes.
As the Operations Manager for a single-owned professional massage therapy company, my role encompasses all aspects of operations - front to back of house, financial, forecasting, payroll, HR, marketing, technology, and maintenance. ADP has provided me with the ability to manage various tasks effectively, ensuring compliance with laws, staying up-to-date on legal issues, handling hiring and termination, facilitating learning, and, of course, managing payroll. We appreciate the ability to consult with experts on HR concerns/laws in our state, the seamless management of the pandemic and provision of pay during our mandated closure, and the incorporation of the Workers Compensation process - we love it! ADP offers numerous tools to help you succeed and stay stress-free. We are able to use the add-on portfolio of services to compliment and enhance our benefits from coverage to training. Giving access to our staff through the ADP app is another great feature that helps to streamline processes, keep everyone up to date, and is a fabulous resource for accessing our ADP-generated Handbook. Having everything at your fingertips is a real game-changer as a company and employee. The more you know, the more you grow! Thank you, ADP, for having our small business's back.

Pros

  • Payroll - special categories, pay circumstances, and tracking.
  • Onboarding - the ease of getting your team in the know.
  • Workers Compensation - not having to do the reconciliation!
  • State specific mandatory training for our staff - done through the APP!
  • Record keeping - tracking PLAWA, Vacations.
  • The many ways you can stay connected - the Podcasts, Advisory Circle, and webinars are fabulous.

Cons

  • When you call for support, you have to go through a chain of questions to get to the department that can help.
  • The "You are entitled to" that tries to sell you a monitor. Please, this is obnoxious to your users, and you cannot bypass it when it happens to you.
  • We would appreciate having a single point of contact; for example, we receive multiple inquiries from individuals offering us applications that we have already declined. That information does not translate, and we will receive multiple solicitations from different people.
  • Using ADP to track earned time off saves me hours of admin time!
  • The compliance piece with Workers' Compensation, as far as doing the numbers, is priceless. This was horribly cumbersome without ADP doing it for us automatically based on our ever-changing staff.
  • Processing the quarterly tax reports for the state. We are assured that we are compliant with all regulations of the tax world.
We no longer need to print paycheck stubs; they have immediate access from their phone. They can update personal information, change direct deposit information, and withholdings without going through me. Mandatory training on bystander intervention and sexual harassment is available. Staff contact list, and so much more! Having access to their personal information, pay, earned time off, and HR functions is such an asset.
What can I say about the many time-saving features? I feel secure that things are being done correctly, legally, and efficiently. I do not know everything, and having ADP at my side brings comfort in knowing I have a partner who is my expert, so I can focus on other aspects of my position. Once I load the time worked and tips into RUN, all the correct deductions and settings ensure that my time spent processing payroll is minimal. Once I double-check, I can trust ADP has the rest.
There have been a few times when I have been out of town on business and was able to process our payroll remotely through the APP. There have also been times when we needed to access employee information to resolve employee concerns while away from the business. It's really great to have access to your payroll/HR tools, just like we do with our POS systems on the go. A true win-win.
We transferred over from Paychex back in 2018. Why? Why not? Although we had a personal payroll specialist, that person often changed. When we encountered tricky payroll issues due to new regulations, the administration process was cumbersome and unreliable. When we onboarded with ADP, the changeover was not only seamless, it was exceptionally easy. We were concerned that once this process was over, it might be challenging to work without a personal account manager. We gained so much all around. ADP has the expertise, tools, and products to help any small business thrive by handling the tough payroll stuff, so you can focus on your trade and growth. ADP was a game-changer in building trust with our staff, knowing their payroll was done correctly.

ADP offers a wide range of options beyond just running payroll. We appreciate the flexibility to select options that best suit our company, such as having Workers' Compensation administered through ADP. During the COVID pandemic, our payroll experts and legal team proved invaluable in navigating special pay circumstances. We have also accessed the HR application to navigate and seek advice on how to administer situations that could be tricky. I would say less appropriate would be putting all our eggs in one basket when it comes to employee benefits - we have a dedicated broker team that we have used for nearly 30 years, and we carry our own HSA and POP insurance, and circumstances when we carry compliant coverage from other sources do not translate to our file with ADP.
