Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
Our accounting department uses Sage Intacct for a wide variety of ERM functions including billing, accounts payable, general ledger, bank reconciliation, and employee expense reimbursement. Sage Intacct also provides us with tools that help address internal controls and allows lighter users a read-only view of our accounting system, which is useful for executive users and auditors alike. Sage Intacct has provided us with a much more efficient ERM package than our previous solution.
- Flexibility - Sage Intacct provides us with a wide variety of user-friendly ERM functions.
- Reporting - Sage Intacct uses several dimensions that, combined with a robust reporting tool, make reports usable . That's a rarity in ERM.
- Security - Sage Intacct has a security function that is easily customized and allows flexibility for company size when it comes to controls, authorizations, etc.
- Imaging - Sage Intacct makes it easy to tie transactions to invoices, emails, and any other document you want. This would normally be handled by a separate tool, but Intacct makes attaching images seamless.
- Vendors - Adding vendors is easy. However, separation of controls is a little sticky in this area. We'd like to be able to restrict our users' ability to add/edit vendors and create payments to them. Vendor approvals would help us mitigate this problem.
- Corrections - making errors in an ERM system is inevitable. Most of the time Sage Intacct allows us to reverse mistakes, but not everywhere.
- Interface - most of the UI is smooth and easy to understand. There are a few locations that looks different, which creates a bit of a choppy experience.
- Reporting - we are able to use Intacct's reports for our monthly financial statement publication. It also provides flexibility for ad hoc reports that assist management in reviewing and making business decisions.
- Intacct is a cost effective ERM solution that has saved us countless hours from the prior system. I wish I had some numbers to share on that...
It allows us to import files for GL, cash management, AP, AR and so on. This allows us to have the benefits and flexibility of recording transactions in excel and still being able to easily get that data into Intacct.
We do use expense management and multi-entity functionality. The latter makes it particularly easy to move from one company to another. Running trial balances and reports is ideal in Intacct. Expense management does help us manage our employee reimbursements, but we are looking for a solution that provides us with more flexibility and functionality in this area. This process is tedious for our employees, particularly for our outside sales staff that has to collect and maintain numerous receipts.
Net Suite was the other product I evaluated when deciding on an ERM solution. By comparison, Intacct is significantly more inexpensive while maintaining competitiveness on its value - particularly its wide array of functions and use of multiple dimensions for reporting. I also felt that Intacct was more appealing to us as small business, but could still handle an increase in the size of our business.
