Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

We utilize Sage Intacct as the financial system of record for our customers. Our usage of Sage Intacct extents to the configuration, implementation, and support of our client environments. In our client environments, Sage Intacct is used by department managers and the C-suite. Our clients use Sage Intacct in the preparation of their financial statements and for operational understanding of the performance of the individual departments.

Pros

  • The ability to use dimensions is the single greatest differentiation that provides the greatest leverage for both us and our clients.
  • Sage Intacct's online help is extremely robust allowing the opportunity for self service that most systems don't come close to enabling.

Cons

  • While the fixed asset capability has come a long way, it is still relatively segmented from the main product and should be integrated in a more thorough manner.
  • Error message reporting is clunky and difficult to understand.
  • Sage Intacct has enabled us to deploy our products to customers in a specific market that we would have had difficulty doing with them.
We have not been able to automate to the extent that we'd desire. This is still an area where we can increase our capabilities.
We utilize multi-entity in a pretty standard manner. We've found the capabilities to be fairly decent. Difficulties and confusion can exist when there is activity that has taken place at a parent level and after the addition of new entities is now required to exist at a lower level. This requires training to ensure compliance.

Project accounting is mainly used for grant management. To date, we've not yet realized the potential of Project Account to the extent that we anticipated being able to do so upon purchase.
We haven't evaluated other competitors in a long time.
Scenarios where Sage Intacct is well suited:
  • Reporting based on dimensions
  • Ability to integrate with an API
  • Cloud based
  • Flexibility of smart events/rules to create custom experiences
Scenarios where Sage Intacct is less appropriate:
  • Budgeting is a weak spot for Sage Intacct.
