Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Sage Intacct is used as our primary accounting software. We do all of our financial reporting and P&L management within the system. It is our Accounting team's primary tool for day to day work. Our Project Managers also leverage it for Purchase Orders and approvals.
  • Consolidates accounting information.
  • Integrates with other tools.
  • Reporting is difficult to use, resulting in more Excel reports than in system reporting.
  • Customer support and advising is very limited and too sales-focused vs. problem solving.
  • Inflexible to adjust to business nuances and exceptions.
  • Sage Intacct increased our software expense without delivering increased value.
The processes work appropriately but we were advised to set up in a way that overcomplicates the process. We now have additional steps from our last software to handle payables that cause a greater burden rather than simplifying the accounting. I believe the software is capable but it's very dependent upon configuration and best practices.
Configuration was a lengthy process. We leveraged a third party to handle ours which was helpful but once we were in the software, we needed additional support and have found that to be lacking. There are many areas that could be simplified with better consultation and advising. I'd encourage anyone to do a basic config then involve a 3rd party (not Intacct directly) to help you optimize and finish out the configuration after you have used the software for a month or two.

Do you think Sage Intacct delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with Sage Intacct's feature set?

No

Did Sage Intacct live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of Sage Intacct go as expected?

No

Would you buy Sage Intacct again?

No

There is a lot of bloat in the software that is difficult to understand and gather adoption. There is significant price for each additional module as well. It would be less appropriate for a team that doesn't have strong software acumen or a good IT support structure. We find we still use Excel more because it is easier and we have a more junior team.
