Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct

Sage Intacct is our single source of the truth for enterprise-wide finance and accounting data. Four profit centers and seven cost centers spread across four entities with operations in two states are supported by Sage Intacct. We use Sage Intacct for accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, general ledger activities, tax tracking, and all ancillary finance and accounting functions.
  • Sage Intacct tremendously simplifies our chart of accounts by allowing us to use multiple dimensions to accurately track and report on expenses and sales. We now have a universal set of simple GL accounts, consistent across all entities and departments.
  • Sage Intacct allows us to extract and report upon detailed financial information very quickly. We are able to support operations more effectively by significantly reducing the amount of time required to get answers around financial information.
  • Sage Intacct eliminates IT-related issues and delays. Software updates are reliably scheduled and rolled out to the entire Intacct user base simultaneously. We spend zero time or money maintaining servers, applying updates, etc...
  • I would like to see published pricing for add-on modules without having to engage an account executive. This would allow us to determine if a particular module we are considering is priced in a way that makes sense for the value we hope to gain from deployment very quickly.
  • Sage Intacct has tons of flexibility supporting customizations like smart rules. An object-oriented, visual smart rule builder would be a great enhancement.
  • Sage Intacct allows us to answer questions about financial data in a small fraction of the time it took with our legacy ERP.
  • Sage Intacct has eliminated many processes that previously required manual data entry by integrating with our expense report management suite, our payroll provider, a sophisticated planning & budgeting module, and other critical integration points.
  • Sage Intacct offers a superior level of trust in our financial data by enforcing standardized, centralized business rules across all entities.
User interface is quite intuitive. As long as initial configuration is done properly, things seem to work without disruption or quirky errors. User manual (help) pages are relevant and intuitive. The user community is also an excellent resource to gain information about advanced use cases and many of the new features that are released with product updates.
Technical support is responsive and accessible. We have engaged support by both phone and e-mail. Responses are timely and thorough, and it is relatively simple to get a correct answer to any issue from the first engagement. We do not find that technical support resources are needed with a high frequency, but are certainly satisfied with outcomes on the few occasions where we have had to reach out for support.

Inter-entity transfers are handled automatically. Recurring accounts payable bills have significantly reduced the time our AP clerk spends processing monthly recurring bills. Integration with and automation surrounding payment for expense reports has trimmed dozens of hours per month off of our processes. Payroll journal entries are now automatically brought into Sage Intacct using its API instead of manually entering the data.
Multi-entity support allows a single platform to support our entire enterprise from one place. Our users have a truly single sign-on and the user experience inherently assigns expenses and revenues across the appropriate entities automatically. Inter-entity transfers are made automatically and without extensive user intervention. Reporting on financial performance of the entire enterprise, or getting as granular as a single physical location for a single cost center is made easy with Sage Intacct.
We quickly eliminated all ERP offerings that required care and feeding of a dedicated server, strongly opting for a multi-tenant hosted SaaS solution. We intentionally wanted to eliminate our IT department from needing to support our Finance and Accounting team, and Sage Intacct serves as the core product in support of achieving that goal. Compared to other SaaS offerings, we found the user experience to be superior with Sage Intacct and the implementation to be a positive experience, with a team that took the time to understand our business and offer recommendations for enhancing our business processes to best leverage the capabilities of Sage Intacct.
Medium to large organizations will thrive well with Sage Intacct. An organizational commitment to modernizing accounting must be made in order to leverage all the benefits that Sage Intacct has to offer. Users should be open to learning new, better ways to perform accounting functions and take advantage of Sage Intacct's dimensional structure.

Hi-Tech Usage

Sage Intacct's reporting capabilities have certainly made our organization much more capable of making tactical and strategic growth decisions timely and armed with good data. Sage Intacct's reporting has made it possible to both expand and contract wisely to maximize our overall portfolio value.
Inter-entity transactions are fully automated, making the monthly close process much faster. Data consumers and business decision makers have rapid access to complete, consolidated (or detailed) financial information exceptionally rapidly. Users are able to dynamically explore live reporting and ascertain financial information required to make sound business decisions, largely without the need to engage Finance and Accounting team members for basic assistance.

COVID-19 Updates & Changes

Sage Intacct offers robust development support and has good, easy-to-find information about its API. The Sage Intacct Marketplace allows users to identify solution sets that have undergone all the development necessary to very rapidly deploy integrations. The integrations offer deep levels of access to data and perform in a truly bidirectional manner. There has not been an instance yet where we were unable to exchange a particular field or piece of information with an external system that we needed to have imported into or exported out of Intacct.
All processes remained incredibly stable as our organization largely transitioned to WFH. Service availability remained extremely steady and was able to support our users from any location with Internet access. We noticed zero disruption in service levels or increase in monthly close time as a result of existing "portable" processes made possible by utilizing Sage Intacct.

Using Sage Intacct

6 - Six users from our HR and Finance teams interact directly with Sage Intacct. These users manage employee rosters in Intacct, perform all accounting functions, financial reporting functions, and actual-to-budget comparisons. Payments - both on paper check and ACH transactions - are made to vendors directly from within Sage Intacct. Approximately 15 other users representing leadership from both profit- and cost-centers across our organization interact with add-on dashboarding products that connect to Sage Intacct's API for digesting relevant financial information in a very easy-to-understand format.
1 - We have one dedicated administrator that is responsible at a high level for evaluating feature enhancements and configuration of some of the product integrations. On an ongoing basis, almost no in-house support is required to keep Sage Intacct running optimally. Some functional knowledge on a basic level of how APIs work and the ability to coordinate with product vendors is helpful, but certainly not required for success. Zero infrastructure to maintain, and product updates are delivered to all clients automatically. Supporting Sage Intacct internally typically requires less than one hour per month on average.

Sage Intacct continues to well-satisfy our needs and is an easy-to-use product. Service reliability has been excellent. The ability to integrate Sage Intacct with best-in-class companion products that handle expense reporting, budgeting, etc... makes Sage Intacct an excellent value. We continue to be extremely well-satisfied with the results and performance of our experience using Sage Intacct.
