Overall Satisfaction with Sage Intacct
Sage Intacct is being used for timesheets and expense entry. It may be used for other things but I am not aware of it. It is used across the whole company.
- I see no problems with the basic timesheet and expenses functions, other than what my company brings upon itself by locking down choices.
- You have INSANE security, more than on my bank accounts! I refuse to use a cell phone and your constant verification procedures always include texting verification codes, so I always have to bother my wife (you send the codes to her phone).
- You don't allow for entering phone extension numbers when getting a call with the verification codes. Unbelievable. So when I worked in the office (pre-Chinese virus) I had the codes sent to friends' phones, and half the time they were traveling or at least away from their desks when you randomly sent a code you expected me to monkey back. You also have an insanely short expiration time on your codes, which meant by the time I found my friends the code was no longer valid. So rinse and repeat!
- You really don't need case sensitivity on all three login parameters. It's a stinking timesheet, not access to nuclear launch codes!
- This may be (or may not be) my company's selection, but the frequency with which I've had to change passwords is completely annoying and leads to people writing them down, which defeats the purpose of a password.
- All I do is try to enter time and expenses, so I have no idea of the corporate impact on ROI, etc.
- Frankly, and this may be the fault of my company and not Sage Intacct, they lock down the system to only allow people to charge to project activities they've been staffed to. This leads to people charging activities to what they have been staffed to rather than what they actually did. Nothing really fraudulent (the activities codes are generally for the same project), but misleading when it comes time for a project post-mortem (to see where all the time went).
I am not at a level to really comment on that. Again, my only interface is with timesheet and expense functions. Intacct does that rather well, my huge beef is with the insane security.
As I previously wrote, the ability to lock down the system to only allow people to charge to activities they have been "staffed" to creates a false impression of where the time goes (when it is Friday and you have to get a timesheet in so payroll can be processed and there is no one around to "staff" you to the right activity, people by nature charge to one of the activities they were previously staffed to.
