Overall Satisfaction with SAP Analytics Cloud

SAP Analytics Cloud is primarily being used for reporting purposes as well as predictions. It is used primarily for the finance and sales business functions; and not being used across all functions. It is used for generating reports on business data; analyzing the data and carrying out predictions based on the Smart Insight and Smart Discovery features.

Pros

  • Great option for users to build their own stories.
  • Powerful graphics.
  • Great features such as Linked Analysis and Smart Insight.

Cons

  • Loading time and performance require considerable improvement.
  • Limited features for a live connection.
  • Seamless connectivity to include other databases such as SQL, etc. as well is desired.
SAP Analytics Cloud - being a cloud offering does not require any infrastructure for development of the reports and dashboards and doesn't depend on the back-end system availability for preparing a prototype. Since there is already a lot of pre-built content available, it offers a great way to look at the features and can help decide accordingly what is suited for you as per your requirement. These features are not readily available for the other mentioned on-premise platforms.
SAP Analytics Cloud offers a lot of options to connect to disparate data sources; sometimes connectivity can cause issues and can take up time to troubleshoot these issues. Some advancement still needs to be done in terms of enabling connectivity directly with systems instead of going through the query route such as BW Provider. The transformation and data cleaning capabilities can be improved upon.
SAP Analytics Cloud offers powerful access control capabilities with field-level checks which can give complete control. Reports can be shared in the form of URLs with other users through emails and people can collaborate on the stories. Stories can be combined and exported to PDF which can be readily presented.
SAP Analytics Cloud is a powerful tool suited to building rich reports, and offers a lot of pre-built content which can be modified as per requirements and help in coming up with a quick reporting story. It is not useful where basic reports are required and not all features of the SAP Analytics Cloud can be utilized.
