Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are using SAP Analytics Cloud for data warehousing, data analysis, exploration, visualization, augmented analytics (insight to action), and integrated planning using workflows. It has provided us with a one-stop platform to do and stitch together planning, dashboarding, and analytics. We love it.

Pros and Cons

It is easy to connect and use all these data sources
We have been able to access all the data live (in real time) also
SAP Analytics Cloud has potent machine learning and AI capabilities
Built-in workflows in the tool allow us to do planning and scenario management

Sometimes slow in processing very large data sets slows business processes.
Limited options for broadcasting the stories hence difficult to share with others.
Need to lot of rework when a model is rebuild leading to frustration

Return on Investment

Modern dashboards/great UX--very modern looking charts and components, which provide a great user experience.
Rapid deployment--It is also relatively easy to learn and adapt to organizational needs.

Alternatives Considered

Lumira has mature support for scripting/layout
OAC has strong expression language
Tableau supports Python, R, and other scripting languages
Also relative to, Tableau fewer of adaptors

Simple user interface makes it very easy to learn and use this product
Built-in support for machine learning eliminates the need to set up infrastructures and bundles to use ML
Supports data connectors for all the major business data sources

Support Rating

Their solutions and customer success team is very receptive to enhancements, features, and feedback
Turnaround time on reported problems is astonishing
Good training materials on how to utilize the platform

Likelihood to Recommend

If a customer is already using lot of SAP stack, I would recommend SAP Analytics Cloud, as integrations are seamless and the insights it provides are very valuable. There can be limitations in using Python on other scripting languages, unlike in competing products such as Tableau, Qlik, OAC.
