Overall Satisfaction with SAP Analytics Cloud

Primarily used for reporting needs. Reports are highly interactive and analytical. Reports are used for Revenue comparisons ( YoY ), Customer Retention, Customers in Jeopardy, etc.
  • Visualization charts that are highly interactive.
  • Modeling capability including formula builder allows lot of flexibility.
  • Ability to connect to several data sources and allow the import of large data sets into SAP Analytics Cloud.
  • Connectivity to SAP BEx Query Designer is not reliable. We have had several issues with connectivity.
  • Need automation tool to convert WEBI reports on BEx Query Designer to SAC
  • Helps us identify business trends and take proactive actions.
  • Helping us in standardizing our reporting tools
Great to use, user-friendly, and little to no code. Data models are easy to build.
  • Product Features
SAP Analytics Cloud provides great features for dashboards. We would also be using it for Financial Planning and Budgeting very soon. Haven't explored the ML part yet but that is also a feature of interest. And lastly, the ability to connect to several different types of data sources. Overall the product has been a great addition to our organization.
I feel SAP Analytics Cloud is superior to other tools because of cloud capability and the ability to connect to several data sources. It also has a feature to store large set of data in-memory for faster reporting.

Well Suited: For reports using highly interactive dashboards, visualizations, and predictive. We are using it with HANA DB with native HANA Modelling.

We did run into issues with BEx connectivity. So we had to re-design the solution to use a HANA Calculation View instead of BEx. But this approach forced us to write procedures to convert dates from User Input format to DB format. Similar procedures had to be written for handling Material conversions ( left pad with zeroes ). Although it worked but it only increased the effort.
