Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are a vertically integrated cannabis company (seed to sale), so we implement training across all verticals (cultivation, manufacturing/processing, wholesale, retail, and HQ) and at all levels (new hire through executive). We're currently active in 9 states and growing. Litmos ensures all legal/regulatory/compliance training is completed, tracked, and reportable for the states.

Pros and Cons

Allows for dashboard visibility at multiple levels.
Provides extensive reporting capability (in many states allowing us to eliminate paper files).
Allows for the ability to provide training from a company-wide, state-wide, vertical, location, team, or individual level.

Searching for teams is a challenge, as we have to enter the entire name (or know exactly how it starts), since all our locations start with Harvest of _________, it means having to type that and not just the unique indicator that would be in the blank.
Some reporting capability could be improved, as it only provides the latest iteration of something rather than historical data.
Ability to view/print an organization structure with Litmos is still a challenge.

Return on Investment

Increased compliance.
Decreased the need (eliminated in some instances) for paper files with certificates showing training completion.
Provided consistency across the verticals and country.

Alternatives Considered

TalentLMS, Docebo LMS, MATRIX LMS, Adobe Captivate Prime, Cornerstone OnDemand and LearnUpon

I've done business requirement gathering of LMS needs, LMS selection, and implementation at 3 companies now. Litmos and Docebo always end up in my top 3. However, Litmos has always won out for existing capabilities that, in the past, Docebo was still developing. At my current company, Docebo wasn't an option (as many other LMSs were not), because we're in the cannabis industry.

Usability

Litmos is very easy to use and intuitive. If I could change one thing, it would be to make sure it always captures where the learner 'quit' even when they don't correctly log out (e.g. allow the system to 'time out' instead). This can often cause the learner to have to re-take training or appear 'locked out' of the system.

Implementation Rating

Litmos implementation is the BEST. I've done other implementations where you're either 100% on your own, or there are only pieces that can be transferred. The Litmos team is there to offer as much or as little support as needed and include full-service implementation out of the gate (no additional charge).

Likelihood to Recommend

Great for companies, like our, that need to ensure legal/regulatory compliance on a large scale.

Amazing at allowing for targeted training to specific locations, people, teams, etc.

The team at Litmos is highly responsive and wonderful to work with.

LOVE that it is 'active user' based and not licensed-based (meaning, essentially, I have 3,000 'seats' in my classroom and Litmos doesn't care who is in the those seats. Allows me to not have to purchase individual licenses in a high turnover industry like ours.

Because of the pricing, I generally don't recommend Litmos for companies that are smaller (with no plans to grow) or just looking to provide content access for documentation, such as SOPs or P&Ps.

Litmos - The ONLY choice if you're in the cannabis industry!

Overall Satisfaction with SAP Litmos
