Overall Satisfaction with Scale Computing HC3
We utilize two infrastructures. One for our main system that hosts an IIS and SQL server and a secondary cluster for DR. Both clusters support the majority of our businesses functionality.
- Their raid set up is pretty neat. When a drive goes out, it permanently moves the information to another. One the drive is replaced, it builds on the new drive instead of transferring information back to the new drive.
- We were able to cut our server room down from 4 racks to 2.
- We were able to cut our energy consumption in half.
- 3 words. Redundancy, redundancy, and redundancy. Excellent setup.
- There are some things on the UI that can be implemented.
- Power usage Lowers cost every month
- Initial cost like always will raise costs
- Cooling! Less heat emission, the less our air conditioning has to work!
I don’t think Scale is quite where VMware is just yet. I feel like a few adjustments and adding of functionality will get you there.
