Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Scale to house all our Windows servers, roughly 25 total. The reliability has been tremendous. Only real problem we have had is resizing hard disks in our VMs.

Pros and Cons

Pros

High availability. We have had no unplanned downtime.
Technical support is amazing. Very responsive.
Easy to expand and grow.

Cons

Can only use static memory
Too cumbersome to expand hard drive in VMs
Too hard to manage snapshots and storage

Support is very responsive and have solved all problems we have had with 1 hour

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Clustering

Scale was much cheaper to implement.

Likelihood to Recommend

Perfect for small business that needs high availability, but cannot afford traditional clustering technologies.

Jamie, In response to the above "Too cumbersome to expand hard drive in VMs" - We heard you and love the candid feedback - Here is the fix in HyperCore version 8.5 https://www.scalecomputing.com/blog/live-disk-expansion-on-hc3-available-now We on the Product Management team would love to understand more about "Too hard to manage snapshots and storage & Can only use static memory".
