Overall Satisfaction with Scale Computing HC3

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use HC3 to virtualize ALL server assets. High performance, delegatable interface.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Super easy to use, easy to delegate to technicians
Much lower cost than most competing products
Excellent support

Cons

Could use better integration with UPS's. Currently UPS shutdown has to be handled by a separate windows system
Sometimes, migrating other vendor's VM appliances can be a bit "fiddly"

Support Rating

Always quick, and always knowledgeable.

Return on Investment

We have found HC3 to be very robust, and very cost effective, especially relative to more traditional storage and virtualization products

Alternatives Considered

NetAPP, EMC. All were more expensive by a long shot. Most also required VMWare licenses on top of the cost of the equipment.

Likelihood to Recommend

Small to mid-sized organizations looking for higher performance, and the advantages of virtualization with little of the added administrative pain and cost.
