Overall Satisfaction with Scale Computing HC3
This is our first real virtualization project, and the Scale cluster system makes it super simple. Support has been great to work with during the deployment stages. The few little issues we have had, they have been right there all the way. It really has been a great experience so far, and I see us continuing with them far into the future.
- Easy setup, with great support.
- Easy configuration after initial setup. You start a VM and just go.
- Snapshots! Taking a snapshot of a server and restoring back to it is so easy. Love it!
- None that we have found.
Our OMS (Milsoft) was the first thing we virtualized. It consists of 3 servers total, and the transition from physical to virtual was flawless. We have also virtualized our communications monitoring (Ubiquiti UNMS and airControl) and have had no issue there. Around the same time we started this project, we also started a firewall project with Fortinet. They gave us an image for their analyzer suite and it was very easy to import and start using. Overall, this setup has been amazing!
- We are an electric utility. The fact that I have eliminated so much electrical usage by going from 7 servers to 3 servers, with more going offline as we transition, makes me feel like we are really doing something.
