Overall Satisfaction with Scale Computing HC3

Scale Computing HC3 is currently being used for multiple departments and is planned to be used for the entire organization. It allows near immediate spin-up and provisioning of VMs, hourly fail-over/disaster recovery, and file level backup of all VMs.

Pros

  • Of all the hyper-converged infrastructure I have tried (Microsoft, VMware, and Nutanix), Scale is the least complex and easiest to manage. It requires very little training to utilize efficiently
  • Support is top notch
  • It is a powerful tool that requires very little external management infrastructure

Cons

  • Is not BYOD compatible
They are responsive and knowledgeable. Everyone is Tier 2 or above.
  • We haven't had this system long enough to provide hard numbers. But the purchase cost of an equal system that uses VM ware or Hyper-V would be double the cost of Scale for the same performance and capabilities.
Scale is well suited for anyone that needs a virtualization platform but doesn't want to spend a fortune and doesn't have time to learn a complicated system.
