Overall Satisfaction with ScienceLogic SL1

I don’t remember any particular point, but as a SL1 admin, I feel that score would be better.
We use SL1 to monitor servers, network devices, Databases, and storage devices. SL1 allows us to bifurcate critical devices/applications into dashboards using business services. Therefore, reviewing and keeping our environment healthy before getting P1 alerts will be easy.

  • Monitoring all kind of devices in single environment.

Cons

  • If we increase Device/service counts in Business service, will be better.
  • As of now, the topology (using CDP/LLDP)view is limited to the device categories network, switch, and network router. It would be better if this feature were included in all network devices.
  • Unified view further needs to be updated like classic view.
As a fresher, this is my first organization, and they use SL1. So, I don’t have more knowledge of other tools. But I do know Grafana, which is predominantly used for dashboards. I think compared to that, the SL1 dashboard gives more details about devices. So, I feel SL1 would be better.

I can say it’s well-suited for business services/dashboards. I feel we need PPK to monitor M365 devices like teams.
