Overall Satisfaction with SimilarWeb PRO

One word: context. As an agency, we use SimilarWeb PRO to add that all-important layer of background and context to the results we present to our clients. Performing well this month? Organic traffic through the roof? That's great, but are your competitors seeing the same? Is your category as a whole seeing growth, or is the growth you're seeing down to the work you're putting in? Are you accelerating ahead of your competitors or staying level? The added context that can only be gained through SimilarWeb PRO helps add business intelligence to digital performance insights that you just can't (reliably) get anywhere else.

Pros

  • Organic search traffic competitive comparison
  • Paid search traffic competitive comparison

Cons

  • Keyword-level insights for search performance - being able to drill down here would be next-level
  • Competitor traffic performance benchmarking
  • An absolute requirement every day for our flagship search clients.
I use both Semrush and Ahrefs for search insights, particularly in the organic space. Though these are often compared to SimilarWeb PRO, the use cases are slightly different. As I've said earlier in my review, these tools are better suited to finding detailed insights that might be the driving forces behind a bigger trend. They're less well suited to analysing macro trends. This is where SimilarWeb PRO is unmatched in the marketplace, in my opinion.

Do you think Similarweb delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Yes

Did Similarweb live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Similarweb again?

Yes

Well suited to analysing wider trends. Great for understanding what's happening in the wider marketplace/competitive environment. Excellent for understanding cross-channel insights (e.g. where a particular channel is growing, perhaps at the expense of another one - paid and organic search, as an example). Less appropriate for understanding exactly why things are happening, and being able to drill down to the details that might be causing the trends you're seeing. I'm progressively finding myself turning to tools better suited to that kind of detailed analysis, such as Google Trends or Google Keyword Planner.
