Slack is being used across our department (technology) and is being reviewed for company-wide [use].
It allows teams to collaborate/communicate asynchronously instead of relying on being online/offline with Jabber.

We chose this over Jabber products because it's more than a chat program, it lets us integrate products with it such as Amazon metrics, etc.
