Overall Satisfaction with Slack
Slack is our main way to communicate and collaborate in real-time. It is used across the entire company, with both individual conversations and discussion in channels. We also make use of other features, such as the ability to build a to-do list, Workflows, Canvas, etc. The list of features in Slack is quite impressive for those on a high enough package.
- Ease of use
- Speed and efficiency
- Customer service
- No downtime
- Variety of ways to interact and connect
- Multiple tools for collaboration beyond messaging
- Quick video/voice chats through Huddle feature that work really well
- Too many features tied to Enterprise level
- Expand the Later feature for better project management
- Multiple tiers of Slack AI for those that can't afford what is there currently (which is more than the cost of the Pro plan itself). Teams AI is way cheaper
- Native survey feature instead of relying on third-party
- Video conferencing that can be scheduled, similar to Teams or Zoom. Huddles are great, but in order to replace Teams entirely, this is critical
- Increased productivity due to speed of platform versus Teams
- Streamlined certain processes, including onboarding, with features like Workflow Builder and Canvas
In my opinion, Slack is, by far, the platform to beat in the market. Microsoft may have the edge since it is native to that ecosystem with better integration with other native apps (Word, Excel, etc.), but I think Slack still beats them in almost every other way. We had Slack initially, then switched to Teams for cost savings. After a bit of time with Teams, we realized it was time to switch back to Slack. Teams is now just used for scheduled video conferencing for company meetings and interviewing.
