Overall Satisfaction with Slack

Our team uses Slack to communicate with each other on a daily basis. We share files with each other by "dropping" them into Slack. We also keep track of our projects in a list in Slack along with keeping track of who is assigned to what project. We also use huddle in Slack for our internal calls.

Pros

  • Allows our team to communicate easily with each other
  • Lets us share files quickly
  • We can easily call each other with Slack huddle

Cons

  • The List button was recently moved, making it difficult for us to find our lists.
  • The List used to open in a different window automatically. Now you have to click a button to open it in a different window.
  • It saves our team time to be able to easily communicate with each other. Which of course saves money.
  • It allows our team to share files easily which again saves time.
  • It keeps us from missing important client calls.
Slack is easy to learn and easy to use. There is also a Search field at the top of Slack which helps you find past conversations so you are reminded of what was said about a project. It also allows you to keep track of projects and when they are due. There is a template that makes it easy to create the list.

Yes

Slack is well suited for a small team to use to communicate with each other. You are also able to add people from outside the team, which allows for a quick and easy way to communicate with clients or contractors that you are working with. Slack also connects to your calendar and reminds you of upcoming calls. This feature is super helpful to keep you from missing a call.
