Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds ipMonitor
SolarWinds ipMonitor provides basic Network and System Monitoring for small to medium n/w's. We have used it for monitoring equipment only for some of the departments (IT). It is used for troubleshooting network and system problems. It does not provide all the functionalities what SolarWinds NPM provides.
- It is simple to implement and work with
- Provides decent analytics
- Needs minimum System requirements
- Does not provide detailed information which you can expect from another tool like npm
- Does not integrate well with other SolarWinds modules like SAM etc
- It is lightweight and easy to setup
- Cost Effective and affordable
- Does not provide Root Cause analysis or other features like anomaly detection which other monitoring tools provide.

SolarWinds NPM provides more functionalities than ipMonitor. It is for medium - large enterprise and provides lots of monitoring options.
