Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor

We use it to track service/application availability. Let's us know when a key business process fails.

Pros

  • Reliable
  • Basics are displayed easily

Cons

  • Need other Solarwinds modules for full utilization
  • Presentation could be improved significantly, often too much data on screen
  • Ability to resolve issues more quickly.
  • Engage in better capacity management discussions.
  • Kept us from critical issues from running out of disk space.
  • Logic Monitor and VCOP
We still had physical servers so VCOPs couldn't do the job at the time. It's presentation was very good though.
More appropriate for companies that have IT members that can dive into details and tweak settings.
