Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor
We use SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor to support our managed infrastructures on customers sites. They are individual silos and they check in with our pollers. Our internal support teams use the web interface to troubleshoot and preemptively fix issues for their specific customers. Additionally, we use powershell and SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor hand-in-hand for specific custom monitors for our applications.
- Agent installs very easily
- Very easy to organize for different customers
- Creating custom monitors via PowerShell is easy
- The pollers cannot be load-balanced.
- The web interface cannot be load-balanced.
- There is a delay in the agents when running PowerShell on the clients.
- We have on-boarded 3000 nodes.
- We have had to purchase six pollers, and it's been worth it.
- We only have one web interface, because it cannot be load-balanced.
I have not done any comparative evaluations, but I am very pleased with SolarWinds and their Server & Application Monitor, as well as their Database Performance Analyzer. SolarWinds is miles ahead in their field and I look forward to utilizing more of their products as they release them.
