Overall Satisfaction with Splunk IT Service Intelligence (ITSI)

We use Splunk IT Service Intelligence to monitor services and do trend predictions. We use it to review the performance in collections of workstations as we start to deploy new software packages.
  • build services for each SLA
  • Build a service for each data center
  • create dependancies so we can view by service or by data center
  • The ability to pass in token to searches would make templates more useful
  • Customer confidence in new software deployments
  • projection of hardware needs due to changes in the environment
Splunk is better for service management and capacity planning
Each team has a view of its own service but management can see the entire enterprise
Prediction of system performance when deploying a new software package. We can deploy to a small group and look at the impact. Then we can confidently deploy to the entire population
We are better able to see SLA performance and make changes to the infrastructure with that in mind.
