Overall Satisfaction with Sysomos Expion

Sysomos was used by the prior agency I used to work at for social listening ad-hoc client requests, or tracking of mentions or conversations on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. It helped provide insights on the volume of a certain conversation topic, about a brand, hashtags, crises, and more.

  • Sharing of voice analysis.
  • Brand voice analysis.
  • The user interface could be updated.
  • Ease of use - Overall, it's very hard to understand how to create new queries.
  • More webinars on uses for the tool.
4 - At my last agency where we used Sysomos, it was used primarily by me (manager of social analytics), and by one or two of the account managers. Typically this was not used by copywriters or senior execs. It was used by the social coordinator time to time to comply with client requests.

  • Insight-driven analysis.
  • Understanding the reach of hashtags.
I think that Sysomos is the less complex version of Crimson Hexagon and Brandwatch. This tool may be better for small businesses or agencies that have a low budget in terms of tool and platform management. I think that Crimson and Brandwatch are much more updated and complex in their overall offerings.
I would say that this is a fine tool for standard social listening tracking or monitoring. I would not say that it's top of class by any means, but it is sufficient and it gets the job done. I would like to see the interface get updated and new functions included.
