Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Teamwork Projects is being used in our organization as a project management platform. It is used by our sales department to follow up on initiatives and SOPs editing/creation. It is also used by our support team for internal cases management and also to make follow up on contracts/projects with our external customers. It encourages collaboration among the teams and related staff in order to accomplish goals and get jobs done.

Does time tracking but cannot be used as productivity indicator
Resource management is not as robust as other solutions
Needs to be integrated with 3rd party software for document handling and calendars
Notifications in some tasks can get deactivated for no reason, making zombie or abandoned tasks.

Return on Investment

Allows us to manage projects with ease
Better savings compared to other platforms
Not Microsoft Project but works fine
Has collaboration tools, so fewer meetings, and no need to be personally in the same room to make things or instruct things
Adjustment can be done on the fly

Alternatives Considered

Microsoft Project, Trello and Oracle Primavera Portfolio Management

Because of the size of the organization and the projects running over here, we selected the less robust platform that could still allow us to perform project management well. We have accomplished great results in the use of Teamwork and we can recommend it to anyone with small teams who still need to keep track of things

Likelihood to Recommend

Teamwork Projects is specially designed for startup companies and tech companies with few employees, for tasks and project management. It's best suited for companies where resource management or allocations are not needed, nor intended to be as robust as medium and bigger companies. Personally, I think for bigger companies there are better or more robust solutions for project management across multiple teams or departments. where there are more details, personnel, and resources to consider to get things done
