Overall Satisfaction with The Okta Identity Cloud
Okta Workforce Identity is used as [a] single authentication tool used to login across all platforms within our organization. It is integrated with other VPNs like Cisco AnyConnect and acts as [a] primary authentication layer tool. All of the company’s communication ( G Suite, Slack, Jostle, etc.) tools are running under same authentication layer of Okta.
Pros
- Real time accurate push authentication notifications
- Password recovery management
- Accessibility on any platform
Cons
- Approve authentication device dependency
- A specific authentication can only be granted for maximum time frame of 24 hours. One had to re-authenticate an access session after 24 hours.
- Improve security posture
- Single point authentication for every app resulting in less security overhead for individual apps
- Easy to integrate and setup, so saves a lot of time
There are no multiple authentication training guides [that] need to [be] circulated and maintained. Benefits user to remember/store multiple password and credentials. One can easily monitor timeouts and downtime.
Okta support was very good during initial migration and hand-holding on best ways to integrate with CRM tool.
This has immensely saved time especially with employees wherein they don’t have to individually authenticate multiple platforms. This has saved a lot of overhead like resources needed to maintain security of individual platforms.
