Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO BusinessWorks

We use TIBCO BusinessWorks across many business cases integrating major systems, many times with BPM applications.
Nowadays we also enjoy the benefits of Businessworks 6 Container Edition on our cloud environments.

Pros

  • Performance is awesome
  • Greatest Stability
  • Easy to migrate to higher versions

Cons

  • Cloud deployments have room to improve
  • Self-taught
Fortunatelly TIBCO Documentation is so extensive that you can find everything you need, a lot a research work is needed on the other hand.

  • More stability
  • Shorter project timeframe
TIBCO BusinessWorks is a much more mature and capable platform.
Real time processing.
Complex processing and multi source data integration.
The different available plug-ins allows to a plethora of integrations, albeit many of them require licensing.

Innovation, Integration and Support

Businessworks has a superb support, as many other TIBCO products. Sometimes it takes a few interactions to get to the point but they always find a solution
It is very easy if you have proper Plug-in, if not Java or SDK development will make the trick
  • Document composer, using some very complex rules we were able to compose some contracts bespoke for a given client
  • Looking for some IoT integration
  • Literaly everything

Using TIBCO BusinessWorks

100 - Technical: Developers, Admins, Operators, Archtitects
100 - Java, XML/XPATH, Businessworks develper skills
  • EAI in BPM processes
  • API Services
It is still the preferred platform for our integration needs, albeit we have some alternatives its reliability give us confidence

Evaluating TIBCO BusinessWorks and Competitors

Yes - SOAPSwitch, a much older software with far less capabilities

Technical capabilities and integration with existing software in the organization
We would revisit the global adminitration capabilities, it tends to be a bit messy if you have lots of servers.

No - We expect support to be supperb, premium means the company has issues to deal with.
Yes - Unfortunately some bugs take a lot of effort to decipher, support tends to blame development not product
In a few cases the incident was so complex that TIBCO made engineering contact with us so they could review the source code of their product to find out why there was an error, finally solved!

Using TIBCO BusinessWorks

It covers a whole range of different use cases but not all of them work without rethinking the problem and/or adapting to the way BusinessWorks works.
