Overall Satisfaction with Tipalti
We use Tipalti to process invoices, create PO's internally for purchases. Tipalti has helped us tremendously. We are a global company and Tipalti has helped us tremendously by allowing us to do one pay run instead of multiple bank file uploads per entity. In addition, it flags duplicate bills and scans invoices to cut down on time coding bills. Lastly, it syncs with NetSuite allowing us to skip more uploads. I am still learning more about Tipalti so I am sure there are much more benefits to be learned.
Pros
- Scanning invoices. Once you have coded 5 or more invoices for the same vendor. Tipalti will scan and auto populate the coding.
- Syncing. Tipalti Manually syncs bills that have been approved. Once a bill is approved it will be in our ERP 15 minutes after.
- Filters. There are many filters you can customize and use which will help show the bills you are looking for. When you are a large company like us and see thousands of bills, filters are crucial.
Cons
- Image swap, and image swap feature would be amazing and help save time. For example, if you have an office change and process a bill addressed to an old office and it was already approved. You could swap the image of the new invoice address to the new office instead of having to delete and reprocess the invoice.
- Sync errors, I think all sync error titles should be stated. I should never have to reach out to Tipalti support just to find out what the error is and then have to try and fix it. To me this is time consuming for no reason.
- During pay runs if the check box would be a little bit bigger or if you mis click by it then it not open the invoice. A lot of times when i am doing the pay run I will mis the box just slight and it will open the invoice. This is just a personal issue but I cant be the only one who does this
- Vendor onboarding is amazing and easy. You can upload an excel file to Tipalti which will automatically add these vendors which will then automatically sync to NetSuite.
- Same goes for addign approvers. You can upload a mass file or approvers you want in your system and they will automatically add them to Tipalti for you. This is a great feature if you are a company that does a lot of acquisitions
- Lastly, the vendor portal is a game changer. This has helped me receive way less email since vendors can make their own log in and check the status of their bill on their own
Both of these products have treated us well and have their pros and cons. We do a lot of acquisitions though and they are just not friendly the more and more you go. Tipalti has been very helpful with the more we grow. Its a key part in integrating finances
