Overall Satisfaction with TrustRadius for Buyers

We were looking to purchase large enterprise software such as customer relationship management, BI platform and business process management. I was part of the pre-project team, IT specialist, and I had to analyse what was available on each platform's market, in order to know which company should be contacted for more information. During my investigations, I found TrustRadius had very valuable reviews from other people. That made me [save] very valuable time and go straight to the best solutions/vendors
  • the reviews are clear and easy to read
  • the reviews are constructive and trustworthy
  • you always find reviews written by one of your counterparts
  • direct interaction with reviewers would be great (through a forum or chat)
As for software pricing, I don't really rely on vendor information on TrustRadius because our purchase process always includes a negotiation step with a very tough dedicated team. During that step, vendors always include special offers and commercial tricks that make the pricing different from public pricing. I am interested in pricing information on TrustRadius though, in order to have an idea on what offers other users got.
In my opinion, G2 [is the] only comparison with TrustRadius. I even think that TrustRadius covers a wider range of software. The other sites I tried were either unfriendly to use or had bad quality, untrustworthy reviews. When I use TrustRadius, I know that reviews are provided by peers and counterparts, and not by vendors.
I sometimes use the Gartner Magic Quadrant. For me, it's useful if I want to have an idea on competitors at a glance. It may be helpful to quickly get a clear high-level view to discover vendors/outsiders I didn't know.
Gartner's Magic Quadrant is a helpful hint provider and may be handy in a presentation, but it doesn't have a major influence on purchase decisions.
I don't always purchase the product with the highest score. In fact, I don't take into account reviews that are too positive. A good product rating is the one that is consistent with the written review. [And a] good written review is the one that puts forward the pros and the cons of a product/software in a given usage (ideally the same as mine).
I didn't really face challenges when researching reviews on TrustRadius because it does exactly what I expect: help me narrow up the software list to the top 3, get real-life reviews and get an idea on hidden costs. After this step, we are used to directly contact vendors for POCs or further information. I think it would be challenging to make purchase decisions for software that have very few reviews.
G2, Azure DevOps Services (formerly VSTS), Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365)
TrustRadius is a very useful software comparison/review site that really does the job. You come for other real world users' reviews and advice, and that is exactly what you get. The site itself is intuitive and easy to use so that you don't waste time looking for detailed information.
