Overall Satisfaction with UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready)

We are currently using the time keeping feature, but the rest of the features have not been configured correctly, so the rest of the system is worthless.
  • Kiosks are easy to use
  • Tracking punches
  • The implementation process needs a lot of work.
  • It has been a major disappointment and users have become discouraged. There has been limited ROI.
  • UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro) and Saba TalentSpace (formerly halogen)
I loved Ultipro and halogen at my last employer. Both were easy to use. halogen implementation was easy and it was easy to make changes as we advanced in our use. I also used Hodes IQ for applicant tracking. It was much easier than WFR's system.
It's been 3 years and pay [calculations] are not correct. I can't get help, and I can't get training.

Do you think UKG Ready delivers good value for the price?

No

Are you happy with UKG Ready's feature set?

No

Did UKG Ready live up to sales and marketing promises?

No

Did implementation of UKG Ready go as expected?

No

Would you buy UKG Ready again?

No

If a company only has to worry about basic employment laws, no convoluted union contracts that change the way time is calculated, it's pretty straightforward and easy to use. If you work for a company with 10 different employment contracts and pay ordinances, configuration and maintenance will be difficult.

Evaluating UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready) and Competitors

Yes - Microsoft Access and old fashioned timeclocks with punch cards. We need to catch up with the end of the 20th century.
Actually, none of these were. Due to budget constraints, we went with Kronos because it seemed to have the features that we wanted.
Try to get the finance department to play in the same sandbox.

UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready) Implementation

Make sure the people who are doing the build have extensive knowledge on employment law and asking the right questions. I would bet that the people who helped with our builds did not read any of our employment contracts or ordinances; and when I asked questions about how other companies handled certain basic dictates from federal employment laws, they didn't have any idea what FMLA, FLSA, etc were.
Yes - Excitement, apprehension and push back, crash and burn.
Change management was minimal
  • Push-back from elected officials, employees, and time keepers.

UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready) Training

It is easy for the employees, it's fairly easy for most managers, [but] it is a nightmare for payroll and for Administrators.

Configuring UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready)

The configurability is not too limited, but it is much too complex.
If you have a company that has many contracts or pay ordinances that are more complicated than standard federal employment laws, then you need to train the people who will be implementing WFR and maintaining WFR when any changes to contracts/ordinances are made.
Some - we have done small customizations to the interface - 7 out of 10
Our pay [calculations] still don't work.

UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready) Support

It was good for a time, but they just get tired of trying to help us.
ProsCons
Knowledgeable team
No escalation required
Quick Initial Response
Poor followup
Problems left unsolved
Need to explain problems multiple times
Support doesn't seem to care

Using UKG Ready (formerly Kronos Workforce Ready)

It has so much potential, but until the paycals are fixed, it's worthless.
ProsCons
Like to use
Consistent
Unnecessarily complex
Difficult to use
Requires technical support
Not well integrated
Slow to learn
Cumbersome
Feel nervous using
Lots to learn
  • Clocking in and out
  • Everything that is not clocking in and out
