Overall Satisfaction with UltiPro

We turned to Ultipro to centralize payroll and HR for each of our businesses into one system. We operate in several states and countries and prior to Ultipro, managing the data for each company was daunting. With Ultipro, everything is in one place. And, we are not tying up our IT resources with this cloud-based system.
  • Payroll across various states can be tricky. Ultipro manages new hire reporting, tax reporting, and tax payments for us.
  • Ultipro has partnered with some quality companies for products that work well with theirs. We worked with Wise Consulting early on to help us understand the repercussions of various set up / implementation issues. We also work with Global Cash Card for 100% electronic deposits of pay.
  • The Connections Conference held annually is a real asset. This conference takes us out of our everyday and puts like minds together. The networking and learning opportunities are tremendous. I have been to the conference each of the past four years and returned home with great ideas heard from my peers and at breakout learning sessions.l
  • I am frustrated that I cannot pull in my 401k provider for automatic enrollment through the benefits enrollment module.
  • Would like to see disciplinary warnings, performance reviews, and OSHA report of injury attached to an employee's record. We are using the document tab for other documentation. It would be nice to have several document tabs for various applications so that managers could take a quick look in one place at these items.
  • In an employee's medical deduction field, information is kept on the current doctor selected as the PCP and the ID # associated with him/her through the health provider. During our 2nd year using open enrollment, this information did not auto populate for our employees causing some frustration resulting in having to look up the ID # again for the PCP, even if it hadn't changed from the previous year. It would make a lot of sense to streamline this so that the PCP # would auto populate based on the previous year's selection. The employee would have the opportunity to confirm or change the pre-populated information.
  • Love the org chart but hate the lateral layout. Ours is very difficult to view and impossible to print due to the number of employees showing in the horizontal view.
  • One of our goals for this year is to begin using life events. We are hesitant to move forward after reading about issues that others have posted on the Ultipro Workplace Usergroup. Would like to see more time committed to this area at Connections.
  • Security and multiple roles for super administrators are causing some conflicts and inaccurate reporting. Is there some oversight at that end whereby the system will pick up on redundant roles. Does anyone look at this and advise or are we just supposed to find this out when reporting is inaccurate?
  • We have closed several small companies. The paygroups have been inactive for a couple of years. Every few months we receive an error message and are unable to move forward in the payroll gateway without calling Rapid Response for a rep to change the dates on the inactive payrolls. Can't we do something about this? Also, how about terminated inactive employees? We are tired of scrolling through so many that are no longer with us. Can we hide them somehow?
8 - Selection depends on the workforce dynamics. A higher level of manufacturing and production type employees will struggle with the system. I feel it's more geared towards the office, clerical, type.

Using UltiPro

We have a lot of time and money invested and couldn't imagine changing. Yes the system is not perfect but we get the help we need when we have problems. Customer Service is supportive.

Evaluating UltiPro and Competitors

Evaluated ADP and Ceridian. I think they all offer similar products. Ultipro was priced to sell and ADP had a lot of negative reviews.
