Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Unitrends as a Disaster Recovery tool in addition to offsite backup. It has satisfied our backup needs for on premise servers and data along with Cloud solutions like Microsoft One Drive and Exchange. It has also contributed to making annual disaster testing simpler, safer and much quicker than before.

Pros and Cons

Provides an onsite recovery tool for files lost overnight or in the current past.
Backups are monitored for us in case something goes wrong Unitrends is probably already working on it.
Saves time and resources by running efficiently with very little effort from my team.
Unitrends team members are always professional and have always come through with the help needed.

It would be nice if the data transfer to the cloud was faster so we could do more frequent updates.
Upgrades need to be suggested more often to help keep the software current. This would include what improvements or new features exist.
Not quite easy enough to use to allow our user base to restore their own files when lost.

Return on Investment

Unitrends saved all of our companies data that would have been lost with our previous solution. Unreplaceable and priceless data that would have cost us minimally hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Unitrends was able to restore our business during a malware attack in such a short time that we only lost 1 day of productivity.

Each of these solutions have certain features and functions that make them useful. When compared to the Unitrends product, personnel, support, the complete feature set available and roi it's no comparison. The ease in which Unitrends was setup and started was not only quick but also provided allot of knowledge transfer. When you buy Unitrends your not just buying software but the company behind it which stands with you all day every day.

Unitrends is fantastic when it comes to restoring servers in the cloud after a disaster. We had a disaster within a month of implementing Unitrends. We were saved because Unitrends unlike other solutions is not Windows based so it was not affected by the malware. When we declared an emergency the team at Unitrends jumped to action and started helping us get restored and working in the cloud. We were able to bring our entire company back on line with-in 2 days without any major outage. Once we formatted all of our servers we were able to restore from Unitrends over a weekend and by Monday morning the entire data center was back to normal. We only lost 1 folder of data. Fantastic continual 24 hour service by Unitrends consultants kept things moving and helped keep our down time short.
