We currently use Unitrends as our main backup appliance/system both at our main office and as replication target at a branch office. We use it across the entire organization and have had no issues besides minor instances, of which their support staff quickly resolve for us. It allows us to back up our entire file server, various servers, exchange database, and everything else in our environment that's needed.
- Very intuitive interface and admin console.
- Quickly restores backups to intended targets.
- Compression is great which allows for more space to be utilized.
- Instant recover quickly gets a server back up for temp purposes.
- Frequency of updates.
- Sorting of some columns/sections could be better.
- Helping admins better understand differences in back up schema.
- The amount of onsite retention available due to Unitrends has been huge.
- The rapid speed restoration has assisted in prior ransomware remediation attempts.
- The ability to back up to multiple devices from within the console.

We selected Unitrends over the competitors due to a culmination of factors in the aggregate we determined was important. The balance of pricing, features, options, support and reviews from peers all worked to help us decide to go with Unitrends. In the end of our search we didn't find another company that met all the requirements we had and still gave us all the features we wanted along with U.S. based tech support which is rare these days.
