Overall Satisfaction with Unitrends Recovery Series Backup Appliance
We use Unitrends Recovery-series appliances to provide backup operations, and to replicate hot copies to an off-site location.
Unitrends primarily addresses the "we lost all our data" business problem.

- Easy UI
- Easy to read/understand daily reports
- Easy to configure assets
- Easy to create/understand the backup jobs
- Two years later, the Satori UI still doesn't have feature parity with the legacy UI, and the legacy UI is horrifying to use.
- The way assets are displayed often doesn't make any sense (flat list) and you can't re-sort the list.
- The way replication is configured could use some work.
- You can't place assets on an "ignore list", so the dashboard always shows a number of unprotected assets (test databases, VMs, etc.) that we don't care about and would prefer to not hear about anymore.
- "Aliasing out" a backup asset to back it up in multiple parts is cumbersome and tiresome.
- Recovered an Exchange database after a database corruption
- Recovered a bunch of files after someone got ransomware'd
- Recovered several VMs over the last 2 years
Backup Exec should be bolted to a concrete block, set on fire, and pushed off the end of a pier. Unitrends is the opposite.
