Printer Management, SOLVED!
Overall Satisfaction with Vasion Print
Across our almost 1000 user-facing endpoints, Vasion Print (PrinterLogic) has made it incredibly easy for anyone to click the tray icon and drill down within the tree to quickly and intuitively find the printer they're looking for. Gone are the days of dealing with driver issues, digging into Windows printer settings, and browsing slow and clunky directories. It's been a great boon to our enterprise.
Pros
- Print Queue Monitoring.
- Adding Printers to users' machines.
- Analytics - who's printing to where, how, how often.
- Issues with Printers.
Cons
- There's nothing I'd specifically call out for additional development.
- End-User self-reliance.
- Printer Driver Management - it's out of our hands and off our plates.
- Analytics
- End-users don't have to learn new software.
- Single pane of glass for IT staff.
- Gains in productivity and deeply cut into wasted time for IT Staff and End-Users.
- End-Users love the product and platform.
To reiterate, the self-reliance piece is really the selling point here. Users can manage their own printers without having IT remote in. This frees up their and our time for other important work. We've also been able to finally retire our Corporate Office print servers, which had been on our list forever.
Vision Print is a much simpler deployment and a better fit for our use case.
