Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform
We currently leverage Veeam Data Platform's backup and recovery software to facilitate granular object restores with our Microsoft environment for application such as Active Directory, Exchange, and Windows. The item level restores are intuitive and straight forward. Backups regularly occur smoothly with little to no operating system stunning or end user impact.
Pros
- Exchange Mailbox Item Level Restores
- Active Directory Item Level Restores
- Threat Identification within Backups
- Centralized Reporting
Cons
- Support while good, can be slow
- Evaluate configuration against best practices
- More robust Knowledge Articles and forums
- Virtualized workloads
- Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
- NAS filers
- Enterprise applications such as Oracle or SAP HANA
- In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
- Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
- License portability as your environment needs change
- Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
We protect about 4 applications across 75+ systems both on prem and cloud hosted.
- Quick ROI
- Quick Learning
- The Functionality of Veeam Data Platform fits our environment enough to use, but cost is not enough to fully rely on Veeam Data Platform for our Backup and Recovery services
- The wide array of functionality and systems offered can be overwhelming
Granular restores of our primary backup platform left much to be desired. Veeam Data Platform stepped in and made things easy. The interface is well polished and intuitive once the basics have been grasped.
We have minimal benefit from cloud DR due to corporate policies preventing the majority of our information to be outside our direct control.
We have extensively leveraged Veeam Data Platform for our CIFS/SMB backups. Configuring is much simpler than other platforms I have used. Easy to configure, easier to add more to jobs or clone to new jobs.
