Overall Satisfaction with Vena
It is being used as a project management and sales planning tool, as we utilise some of the key integrations such as Salesforce and Microsoft. The entire commercial team uses it, as well as our compliance and risk function. It allows us to collaborate across departments easily and efficiently, which is very helpful as we are primarily a working from home business.
Pros
- It provides a number of integrations, with some key partners and softwares of ours, to allow us to automate various aspects of our business.
- As we are a sales-centric business, it allows us to closely monitor sales performance, across lots of key metrics, so help us know how close to target we are. From there, we can reassess our sales strategy and see if we need to refocus or reforecast.
- It easily allows us to AB test different sales and risk strategies to find the best possible route.
Cons
- I have found the financial reporting leaves a lot to be desired, and takes a while to fully get used to
- The cost element is also on the high-side, especially in comparison to come of it's competitors that I am familiar with.
- We have saved upwards of 8 hours a week on reports and dashboards, as much of this is now automated
- It did however take months to initially setup, so I would use this as a warning to anyone that is going to implement it that it is not a plug-in and play product
- We have spotted several process gaps, both operationally and in the commercial team through using Vena, which has saved us thousands in onboarding costs and potential redress
We have largely been left to our own devices since we went live with Vena, though we have not really needed any further assistance since the initial implementation. We were closely supported during the early stages of onboarding, however as I often find with these things, this tailed off as time goes on so we relied on the online docs and some trial and error to help us.
I am not involved in this aspect of the business so I could not say.
Vena is a little pricier based on what we were quoted but was far better suited to our business, from what I have researched and from the initial pitch we had with both. It also seems to have a wider user base and appeal to larger businesses, which suits us better.
