Overall Satisfaction with Turbonomic (formerly VMTurbo)
VMTurbo is being used across our entire organization, on multiple hypervisors. It is used to address allocation and dispersion of resources in the most efficient manner possible. It moves guest machines from host to host as necessary and resizes guest resources as it becomes appropriate for the guests' needs.
Pros
- Relocating guests in a cluster to the most appropriate host.
- Resizing guests based on need.
- Suggesting additional improvements beyond automation tasks.
Cons
- A more intuitive interface.
- Storage control included.
- A locally installable app alternative to the web interface.
- VMTurbo has reduced the requirements of new equipment specs
- VMTurbo has improved VM performance
- VMTurbo has improved end user experience
Simply put, VMTurbo has nearly and will completely eliminate the need for us to manage the virtual environment entirely, with the exception of managing the guests and what they do individually, and deploying new or retiring old guests.
To be honest, I've worked with a lot of different management tools, and I just don't see how you can compare VMTurbo to any of them. No one I know of does what they do.
