Use Cases and Deployment Scope

WatchGuard's Total Security Suite features intrusion prevention, spam blocking, and DNS filtering, offering me enhanced network visibility and the ability to act against threats directly from the web management page. it simplifies securing my network with VLANs and allows for easy cross VLAN secure traffic as well as blocking ALL un-authorized outgoing traffic

Pros and Cons

Geo Blocking allows me to use a VPN and only allow Geo Specific access.
IPS - gives me peace of mind that the baddies are not on my network.
with Traffic monitoring, I can easily troubleshoot connectivity issues.

I cannot think if anything that I could improve upon.

Return on Investment

Web Blocking keeps my users safe. and allows me to block time wasting sites..
WatchGuard is our first line of defence, we saw multiple RDP attacks on PCS through our previous Firewall, the WatchGuard stopped them dead in their tracks.
setting a bypass password for newly registered websites as well as some other categories allows users to think twice after they have clicked a link.

I am very happy with the partner, and they did a great job setting up the device, they were there after the fact to assist in initial troubleshooting and training.

WatchGuard Unified Security Platform

I can see all, devices from 1 console, I can also push out Firmware updates after hours with zero down time for the users and zero after hours for me.

Alternatives Considered

D-Link Ethernet Switches, Fortinet FortiGate and SonicWall Capture Advanced Threat Protection (ATP)

WatchGuard was far easier to configure that my Fortinet or Sophos, the D-Link routers are just as easy as the WatchGuard to set up since the DSR series, but do not offer the security of the WatchGuard.

device, the WatchGuard is a perfect hybrid solution. I did a lot of research and found the WatchGuard was at or below the competitors price points for similar features. WatchGuard helps a business meet PIPEDA or GDPR requirements and protects them from the und user clicking the wrong thing.
