Overall Satisfaction with Webex Meetings

Webex is being used to connect staff with other staff member in remote areas, home environments, and other government agencies. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is across the state of California servicing the public and ensuring safety. We are building and utilizing this platform across the organization. It is helping us reduce costs and increase information sharing.

Pros

  • Training.
  • Executive level meetings.
  • Supporting Telework.
  • Accident investigation.

Cons

  • Video sound - having many issues with playing video from presentations.
  • Connectivity with Zoom meetings.
  • Webex boards not being able to switch from regular mode to collaboration mode.
  • Reduced travel expenses.
  • High cost of Webex boards.
  • Recordability of training events.

Using Webex Meetings

Evaluating Webex Meetings and Competitors

Webex has many issues working with third party products. Many California agencies have adopted Zoom and we are struggling to work effectively with the poor connectivity. Additionally our court system has adopted Zoom and we have experienced major issues when trying to appear in court digitally. When we are Webex to Webex, works great.

Webex Meetings Reliability

We have personal rooms, all the way up to large 600 person auditoriums, and several rooms in between. We have used the personnel boards, room kits, and a range of Webex boards (both stationary and mobile).
Webex is growing rapidly and that is great, but it is constantly breaking our configurations when updating. We do not have any control over the updates and we would like the opportunity to test the new features before they affect our environment. No one is perfect and not being able to test before production changes is very bad.
For the most part it works great, but there is problems with audio during power point presentations. Our executives get briefings and many times those briefings would include a short video presentation. The audio almost never works with this scenario. We have been working with Cisco Tech many times and they can't get it to work either.
