Webex Meetings - great option if youre exploring different alternatives to Zoom.
Overall Satisfaction with Webex Meetings
As a partially remote team, we used Webex Meetings as video conference tool for our weekly catch up meetings, as well as schedulling discovery calls with leads and review cases with clients. It worked pretty well, connection and video calls were fluid and setting it up was simple enough. Integrations weren't the strong point of the platform compared to other providers.
Pros
- Seamless video streaming
- Simple enough setting up and short learning curve
- Sharing multimedia through the video conference
- Ability to change permissions and host roles in-call
Cons
- Pricier than other alternatives
- Lacks integrations with other platforms
- Voice and sound quality
- Wouldn't hurt to have a private chat option while in video conference
- Positive: The ability to transfer/share files without recurring to third-party apps
- Positive: Familiarity and a robust free version compared to other options
- Negative: Not as intuitive and simple as other options
- Negative: Clients and external partners showed prefference for other options (i.e. Zoom)
As a partially remote team and a company that heavily relies on remote communication with clients, leads and team members, my company's biggest challenge was to integrate all means of communication and information sharing in one platform or process. Webex Meetings did this very well for a time but when we started exploring other ways for file sharing it did not integrate as well as other options.
When it was implemented in our workflow, it improved the efficiency of our communication strategies throughout the team, as it made easy to schedule weekly meetings and made possible to share files throughout the video conference without having to interrupt by using third-party providers (i.e. Slack, Drive or Dropbox). When leadership of the meeting had to change, we could change host permissions directly into the same conference without having to set up a different one, which is a feature we couldn't find at the time with other providers.
Mainly, the ability to integrate local and remote capabilities has helped our company foresee the expanding or contracting of the team and workflow accordingly. Hiring new staff without the limitation of location and being able to onboard them remotely has improved our logistic KPIs in a considerable percentage. Being able to operate through Webex in terms of communication and file transfers with similar capabilities as a local team has helped our company reduce costs and times bound to physical variables.
The ability to transfer multimedia files directly into the platform and a very robust free plan helped me make the decision to try out Webex Meetings. Easy to set up in a company environment and accessible once the learning curve and sign up process are complete. In-platform web navigating is also a nice feature when onboarding new staff or doing market research.
