Overall Satisfaction with Widen

We use Acquia DAM (Widen) to store, organize, and distribute assets both internally and externally. The most essential function Acquia DAM (Widen) offers is the ability for us to easily distribute e-commerce assets to our sales reps, retailers, and distributors. It allows us to organize and secure assets easily based on whatever criteria we need. We also use Acquia DAM (Widen) as a database accessible to those inside the organization. This allows people to access assets easily for whatever their needs may be, from power points to product reviews. Marketing team members are able to search assets by metadata tags and much more quickly locate needed assets for various projects. Portals specifically are a very valuable tool, as they allow us to curate a very specific experience. We use portals to distribute new product assets as well as marketing campaigns. This is a way to showcase all the work that is being done internally and to make assets organized and easily accessible to key parties who may not have access to our Acquia DAM (Widen) collective.

  • Asset digest view is the new default when you begin an account, and it's WAY less useful than just being able to see a big version of the picture. Luckily this feature can be turned off
  • Some more collaborative features for collection building would be useful

  • Asset organizational tools (metadata, categories, collections, etc.)
  • Improved communication to retailers, reps, and distributors

I envision building out a more robust team of Widen admins to help manage data completeness and accuracy.
Acquia DAM (Widen) has an amazing customer support team. My dedicated reps are always very responsive and helpful when I need help with larger projects. When I am dealing with a more concrete question or problem, the built-in chat function always connects me with a very helpful Acquia DAM (Widen) rep. They also have a LARGE collection of tutorials, FAQs, and generally helpful articles that can usually resolve whatever trouble you may be encountering. Acquia DAM (Widen) support is truly great!
The asset organization features on Acquia DAM (Widen) allowed us to implement data governance of our assets for the first time. We have established APIs with our B2B and e-commerce platforms that ensure data only needs to be updated in one place. Asset accuracy is so much better after the implementation of Acquia DAM (Widen).

Acquia DAM (Widen) is great for building quick asset collections and sharing them with someone. Acquia DAM (Widen) also excels at providing many asset organization options. The only area I've really found Acquia DAM (Widen) to be lacking is in the storage of working files (e.g., InDesign files). Occasionally our organization has a need to share working files with distributors in other markets for translation reasons, and we have found it easier to do so via dropbox than via Acquia DAM (Widen).
