Overall Satisfaction with Acquia DAM (Widen)

We use Acquia DAM (Widen) to power the media assets behind multiple web properties. It allows us to have a single source-of-truth for our files and documents and ensures all of our sites have the same version of files. Additionally, it allows us to find documents and images more quickly using its robust and configurable metadata.

Pros

  • Customization and configuration of metadata for files
  • API for integration with applications, in a custom fashion
  • Easy import process of existing files and metadata

Cons

  • Allow users to change all metadata fields, including those now restricted, via upload of a CSV file
  • More out of the box functionality provided by the connector module with Drupal sites
  • Ensured that assets across our sites are consistent
  • Increased efficiency in finding assets for use in campaigns
The Acquia DAM (Widen) support team is very responsive to requests. We've worked with multiple people on multiple issues, and each individual has been very helpful. Additionally, our implementation coordinator who trained us on how to use Acquia DAM (Widen) was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Acquia DAM (Widen) is appropriate for companies with many documents and images that are managed and owned by multiple people and departments. Additionally, if you are looking to use the assets on multiple sites or applications, Acquia DAM (Widen) makes it easy to share assets. Acquia DAM (Widen) is not a great fit if you have very few assets, or if you have a single website or application where they will be used.
